MSP Government Relations Committee's Response to Jeremy Cockerill's Document of November 14th. Jeremy Cockerill circulated widely to pharmacists a document on November 14 th , 2006. On page 2 of the document he wrote the following: “Are you aware that the Manitoba Society of Pharmacists had an independent legal review of Bill 41 conducted on behalf of all interested stakeholders? This independent legal review came to the same conclusion as many pharmacists, this Bill, in its present form, is not in the best interest of pharmacists or the public.” The MSP Government Relations Committee does not accept Mr. Cockerill's assessment of the “conclusion” of the legal opinion. Robert Dawson's legal opinion includes reasoned positions on various sections of Bill 41. The legal opinion does not express an overall opinion consistent with the conclusion expressed in Mr. Cockerill's document. Members are encouraged to read the 18 page legal opinion in its entirety ( www.msp.mb.ca/PDF/bill41.pdf ), so that they are familiar with the actual opinions expressed. 3.
